Scholarships and Awards Handbook and revise as needed.

applications for scholarships and awards and present recommendations to
the FRA Board for approval. (ongoing as deadlines approach for each
board meeting)
- Provide the
secretary and president with an electronic file of minutes of your
committee meeting. (after each committee meeting adjourns)

progress report on your committee’s activities. (at least two days
prior to the beginning of each board meeting)
- Prepare necessary
information for inclusion in each issue of the FRA Newsletter, FRJ, and

restructuring Districts, selecting District Directors, and revising
District Director cycles or some other innovative way in which to reach
our local councils. (to be completed by February 15th)
- Encourage and
assist with the continuing activities of existing councils. (ongoing,

- Organize new local
councils. (ILA is currently updating the requirements;
information will be shared as it becomes available)
- Provide the

in legislation and certification that may affect the teaching of
reading. (ongoing)

legislative session at the FRA Conference (arrange with General
Conference Chair) and for Leadership.
- Draft a letter of
introduction to be mailed to all members of the Florida
Legislature. (To be completed by September 10th)
- Provide the
secretary and president with an electronic file of minutes of your

- Prior to each
